Offbeat Festival

Join us on Gloucester Green market for interactive creative market stalls! All FREE! Make art prints using only sunlight, play with smashed-up pianos, make a zine or build a house.

Natural Pigment Family Art Workshop

Local artist, Emma Williams, will show you how to make your own bright coloured paints from the natural pigments that can be found in plants and spices.

Fire and Wire Workshop

​

Come along to our family-friendly creative art workshop to make a night sky mobile with local artist Emma Williams.

Through an exciting technique that uses wire and fire, you’ll create elements inspired by the night sky – stars, moons and planets – and construct a beautiful hanging mobile.

Summer Holiday Workshops

​

There are two workshops for the beginning of the holidays, one focusing on printing and the other on exploring colour and pattern.

​

Children can bring a packed lunch and spend the whole day creating!

We have launched our new gin flavouring workshop, ideals for groups of friends or special parties. Explore the world of gin and it's botanicals before creating your own bespoke flavoured gin to you own reciepe.

Regular workshops for 8-10 & 11-14 year olds

Emma is now one of the regular team of children's tutors at the picturesque Sunningwell School of Art.

​

Each week children and young people have the chance to draw from life, use new materials and explore different art processes.

Natural Art

Children's workshop

​

We will be crushing rocks, mixing spices, crushing berries to extract their pigments to make some natural artworks. We will even have a go at making our own brushes to paint with!

Explore Textiles

The young people at the Highfield Unit have been exploring a variety of techniques for surface decoration and textile construction including; patchwork, Shibori tie-dye, stencils, applique, collage, weaving and 3-D felt-making.

The Ashmolean Museum

We were delighted to be able to offer a virtual crafting session for the staff and volunteers of the Ashmolean Museum, creating natural and 'eco' Christmas cards and decorations.

​

During these workshops children made five different Christmas decorations with an 'eco' theme, including these clever decorations made from recycled juice cartons!

Hightfield Unit workshops

This project allowed teenage pupils from the Highfield Unit at the Warneford Hospital to take part in two terms of art workshops based on 'The Elements' and printmaking techniques. A substantial body of work was created and pupils were able to submit their creations for an Arts Award certificate.

These Autumn inspired workshops saw children create artworks inspired by the natural bounty of the season, using leaves, seeds, pods and twigs as their inspiration.
